Salvation Mountain and Slab City
Leonard Knight created a small mountain of adobe and straw over a period of more than 20 years. It contains messages of love and verses from the Bible.
Slab City is nearby. The concrete slabs left over from the dismantled Camp Dunlop give the place its name. The population is made up of snowbirds, squatters and off-the-grid artists.
Both Salvation Mountain and Slab City are located in Southern California near the town of Niland.
